Billionaire-funded groups seek to control the voices of faculty, students, and staff. The AAUP-CSU operates entirely on donations and dues contributed by LOCAL members and supporters. We NEED support (both volunteer time and financial contributions) today to fight and protect our universities.
Make a one time or sustaining monthly donation of any amount. AAUP-CSU is 100% run and funded by LOCAL volunteers and donors, and we need all the support we can raise so that we can continue the fight to protect academic freedom and student, faculty and staff rights at Colorado State University.
Sign up for the AAUP-CSU Mailing List and Newsletter
We promise that we won’t send a lot of emails – usually just 2 or 3 a month to announce specific events or actions when we need the most help to stand up to threats to our universities.
After signing up, please post to your preferred social media and encourage your colleagues and friends to join as well.
Why Should You Support and Join AAUP-CSU?
The American Association of University Professors (AAUP, founded in 1915) is one of the nation’s most powerful and visible advocacy and collective bargaining units for higher education. The AAUP and their affiliate the American Federation of Teachers (AFT-CIO) represent more higher education workers than any other union. Our mission is to support all academic professionals and to:
- Preserve academic freedom and the way these basic freedoms protect our teaching and research activities.
- Fight back to prevent cuts to education and science research that may diminish higher education in the United States.
- Advocate for fair working conditions, rights, protections, salaries and benefits for all university employees.
- Fight back against the abduction, torture, and deportation of our international students without justification.
- Ensure that students can continue to obtain high quality and affordable educations and advancement opportunities.

The mission of the AAUP is to advance academic freedom and shared governance; to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education; to promote the economic security of faculty, academic professionals, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and all those engaged in teaching and research in higher education; to help the higher education community organize to make our goals a reality; and to ensure higher education’s contribution to the common good. Founded in 1915, the AAUP has helped to shape American higher education by developing the standards and procedures that maintain quality in education and academic freedom in this country’s colleges and universities.
By joining AAUP, you will support several active lawsuits to protect university members, including:
- to resist federal threats to coerce university administrations,
- to block mass termination of science grants,
- to reverse unconstitutional executive DEI orders,
- and to stop politically motivated deportations.
